With the introduction of high speed ground based laser scanners we are now able to combine these datasets with aerial based scans (photogrammetry or LiDAR) to produce highly detailed point clouds.
Ground based scanners are able to capture anywhere from 26,600 – 976,200 points per second while still maintaining high precision. This increased capture speed is extremely beneficial in reducing the costs associated.
